Join artist Camilla Brendon as she chairs a discussion around Kelp. Panelists will answer questions and open up dialogue around kelps role in mitigating climate change, providing coastal protection and breeding grounds and also how it is used in commercial farming, art making and food production. Audience members will be encouraged to participate when the session is opened up for questions.

KELP FOREST - ENHANCING BIODIVERSITY AND FIGHTING CLIMATE CHANGE

Kelp is large brown algae that form forests in shallow waters. They provide coastal protection, breeding grounds for countless species, produce oxygen, store carbon and are used to make food and medicine.

ABOUT CAMILLA

Kelp Forest is an installation by artist Camilla Brendon. She has worked closely with scientists and environmentalists to learn about this habitat and will chair the panel which will grant the audience insight into the versatility and importance of seaweeds. Attendees can experience the installation at the event.
